چکیده

A general optimal control problem for ABS is formulated and analyzed, with the elimination of excessive slip and reduction of braking distance taken into account. Analytical formulas for singular optimal solutions are derived. These results are applied to a simple laboratory model of ABS. The results of simulations are compared with those obtained by a gain-scheduling approach. Copyright © 2005 IFAC

Vehicle Stabilization via a Self-Tuning Optimal Controller

Nowadays, using advanced vehicle control and safety systems in vehicles is growing rapidly. In this regard, in recent years new control systems, called VDC, have been introduced. These systems stabilize vehicle yaw motion, by yaw moment resulted from tire controlling forces. In this paper, an adaptive optimal controller applied to a vehicle to obtain a satisfactory lateral and yaw stability. To...

Emergency Braking Control with an Observer-based Dynamic Tire/Road Friction Model and Wheel Angular Velocity Measurement

A control scheme for emergency braking of vehicles is designed. The tire/road friction is described by a LuGre dynamic friction model. The control system output is the pressure in the master cylinder of the brake system. The controller utilizes estimated states for a feedback control law that achieves a near maximum deceleration. The state observer is designed using linear matrix inequality (LM...

Explicit Nonlinear MPC of an Automotive Electromechanical Brake

Electromechanical brakes (EMB) have great potential for automotive applications due to performance, manufacturing and environmental benefits. One key performance criterion is the ability to track brake clamp forces requested by higher level controllers such as antilock braking and electronic stability systems. Prior EMB controllers have utilised architectures including cascaded proportional-int...

Fuzzy Sliding Mode Controller for Slip Control of Antilock Brake Systems

Anti-lock braking system is designed to optimize braking procedure while maintaining automobile steerability through controlling wheels slip. However, due to nonlinearity and uncertainty of ABS structure, designing the controller for wheel slip encounters so many problems which necessitate a robust control system. In this paper, a hybrid controller is proposed for ABS to address this issue. The...
